It’s a fact that cat lovers all have their personal favourite when it comes to cat stories or sayings about cats, such as “Dogs have masters, cats have slaves”, and “Women and cats will do what they want, and men and dogs just have to get used to it.”

One of my all-time personal favourites is the following: “Dogs look at their owners and think, ‘These people take such good care of me; they feed me and give me water; they keep me sheltered; they take care of all my needs, and they love me. They must be gods.” A cat looks at its owners and thinks,  ‘These people take such good care of me; they feed me and give me water; they keep me sheltered; they take care of all my needs, and they love me. I must be a god!”

And that just about sums up everything we know – or think we know – about these wonderful felines! They manipulate us endlessly, give us concerns about their whereabouts, refuse to come when called and generally are just so maddening. But then they allow us to pick them up, stroke their silky little bodies and purr like a runaway train – all frustration just melts away and we know exactly why we love them so!
